My Sweetwater Trip
My Sweetwater Trip

I finally took my trip to the greatest store on earth. You know what I am talking about. The mighty Sweetwater Music Store in Ft. Wayne Indiana. It was a pretty grueling drive. The distance was so bad, a little over 700 miles. It was all the construction work along the way. So many detour and interstate back ups. But it was worth every minute.

Got our hotel, went and had dinner and went to bed early so I could get up and be there when the doors opened. Actually had to sit in the parking lot for 15 minutes and wait. Yes, I got there early. It is a sight to behold as you pull in. Nothing can prepare you for when you walk in the door.

It was what I would picture Heaven to look like. Me and Monica walked around part of it as I wanted to just get a feel of the layout before I settled into each area of interest. And yes, it is set up that way. The pedal area, the guitars, acoustic guitars, Keyboard and so on. So there were areas I didn't spend any time since they really weren't my thing.

My thing, as you know. Is the pedal area and that was first place and the last place I hit. Just know that the pedal display alone is worth the trip. It was set up by builders. And the selection was fantastic. It has a nice set up to test them with a head phone amp and head phones. So more thane one person could play and not disturb others, or be disturbed. Yes I bought 9 pedals I believe.

i also had the opportunity to meet a couple of followers fro m my X platform. Both really nice guys and we walked through and checked out the guitars and amps. Great stuff in those rooms. I did miss a few things I should have grabbed, but I was so overwhelmed. And I did get the opportunity to meet and talk to Nick Bowcott while I was there. I interrupted his lunch, but he was so nice and gracious. A joy to speak to.

So in closing, if you have a free couple of days, and have always wanted to see Sweetwater. I suggest you do it. It is a wonderful experience. So much to see and things to do. Make sure you have some money saved up or grab their credit card. You will not leave empty handed.
