Someone asked what my "Hands Down" Favorite Pedal I own is.
No way I could fit this into 141 or what ever it is characters. So here we go. Kevin has asked what my favorite pedal is. Hands down go to pedal. Man that is a tough one. That is like asking someone with kids, who is their favorite. Lol First, lets remember, the pedals I love are fantastic on my rig. I can not promise how they will react to anyone else's playing style or gear. So with that disclaimer said, lets get into it. I have some pedals that have been made specially for me and a few sent that I just love. My Level Up EffexX Hair of the dog OD is my baby now. The Acetone California Swirls is a must have. My Ivy Pedals Gain Machine is exactly what I asked for. The Ivy Pedals Good Guy and Chorus Moon are hard to beat. This new Devils Chalice is fantastic as is the Animals Pedal Car Crush Chorus/Vibe.
But Lets break this down to Regular every day brands everyone see's. The Boss SD-1 is the one pedal I would have to have from major brands. On my rig, this pedal is a beast. I love the Joyo 10/30 series Ultimate Drive. At under $35, it can not be beat. The Joyo R-Series Atmosphere is another. The EHX Nano Clone and the Behringer Octave Divider are also all worth having for what they do.
I left a few out as to not over due it, but the main thing is. What are you using them for, what is your budget and how will it sound on your rig right now? But if you held a gun to my head and said pick one major brand and one Boutique brand. I would have to say Boss SD-1 and the Acetone California Swirls.
